Château de Lamarque Donjon de Lamarque Haut-Médoc 2022

From Château de Lamarque in Lamarque, Haut-Médoc, Donjon de Lamarque 2022 is the estate’s Second Wine, shaped by a vineyard with roots dating back to the 15th century. Owned by the Fumel family since 1839, the property experienced a revival in the 1960s under Marie-Louise d’Evry and Roger Gromand, and is now revitalised by Pierre-Gilles and Marie-Hélène Gromand d’Evry. Their work focuses on transforming the vineyard’s foundations with respect for nature, alongside grape varieties and rootstocks adapted to the terroir.

Made from young vines, this 2022 blend combines Merlot (60%) with Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon (40%). Ageing takes place for 12 to 14 months in barrels of merrain oak from the Allier, using barrels of two wines, bringing an additional layer of cellar craft to this Haut-Médoc expression.
