Cramele Recas Bloody Merlot Vegan Red Wine

From Cramele Recas, Bloody Merlot is a dry red wine from the 2018 vintage, made from Merlot grown across the Recas estate in the south-west of Transylvania and the Pestera estate near the Black Sea. Released for Halloween, it draws on Transylvanian folklore while remaining a balanced, approachable red with 13.5% ABV.

Deep cherry in colour, this Romanian wine shows aromas of red berries and spices, alongside floral notes, spiced plums, vanilla toffees and pepper. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, with a dry yet fruity character, elegant tannins and a long raspberry finish. It suits the table well, particularly with hamburgers, powerful pasta dishes or roasted red meats.
