Synopses

Cart and Cwidder

After Moril’s father is killed by soldiers, the twelve-year-old inherits an ancient cwidder with a mysterious past. As he and his siblings flee the forces closing in, he begins to learn how to use the instrument’s strange and powerful magic.

Drowned Ammet

When Mitt’s father disappears, he becomes involved with freedom fighters planning to overthrow the tyrannical ruler of Holand. After an attempt on the earl’s life fails, he hides aboard a ship heading for the open sea.

The Spellcoats

Tanaqui and her family have always known they are different from the other villagers. Driven from their home by great floods, they begin to understand the part they must play in the destiny of the land.

The Crown of Dalemark

Since arriving in the North of Dalemark, Mitt has become disillusioned, finding it no freer than the Holand he escaped. Still a fugitive accused of attempted murder, he is pulled into new demands when the Countess tells him they want him to kill someone.
