Louis Latour Pouilly-Vinzelles En Paradis 2021

From Louis Latour, the Pouilly-Vinzelles “En Paradis” 2021 is a Chardonnay from the Pouilly-Vinzelles appellation, which encompasses the villages of Vinzelles and Loché. Vinzelles takes its name from the Latin “vincella”, meaning small vine, and is noted for two châteaux set just a few metres apart: a fortified castle from the 11th century, and another dating from the 13th and 17th centuries. The appellation’s vineyards span 50 hectares (122 acres), with predominantly south and south-east facing sites, continuing on from the limestone slopes of Chaintré and Fuissé.

In the glass, “En Paradis” shows a pale gold colour with delicate aromas of honey, yellow fruits and acacia. The palate is described as elegant and persistent, making it a considered choice for the table. Serve alongside crayfish, white meat, escargots or Comté cheese.
