From Paper High, the Indra A4 Embossed & Stitched Leather Journal is a hand-bound leather journal made using a blend of contemporary and traditional techniques, designed to travel well and develop character over time. The cover leather is a by-product of the meat industry in India, tanned using only natural dyes and protected with natural oils to help it soften and age beautifully.

Each journal is finished with embossed detailing created using small handmade tools, so every piece is unique and the pattern may vary from the one pictured. Inside, you’ll find unlined pages of handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), crafted from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from the Indian garment industry. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it’s a pleasure to write, draw, or paint on, and is well suited to ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours; fountain pens are not recommended. Natural creases, bumps and marks are part of the handmade, distressed character, and a more suitable version can be requested if preferred.
