From Paper High, the Indra extra large embossed and stitched leather journal with semi-precious stone is expertly handcrafted using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods, then bound by hand to stand up to life on the move. The leather cover is made using a by-product of the meat industry in India and tanned with natural dyes, then protected with natural oils so it softens and ages beautifully over time. Embossed detailing is created with small handmade tools, making every journal unique; the pattern may vary from the one pictured.

Inside, unlined pages are made from handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), crafted from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from the waste of the Indian garment industry. Acid-free and lightly textured, it feels luxurious for writing, drawing or painting. It’s suitable for ball-point pens, gel pens and watercolours; fountain pens are not recommended. Semi-precious stones are stitched onto each journal and will vary naturally, and the handmade finish means each piece will develop its own creases, bumps and marks with age. If you prefer less of a distressed look, a more suitable version can be selected upon request.
