Thoughtful and hands-on, the Kartel Watch Experience offers the chance to create a personalised timepiece with guidance from the expert team. This design-led workshop takes you through the process of choosing a case, exploring strap options in premium leathers, stainless steel and fabric, and selecting the details that suit your style.

The experience also includes the opportunity to engrave your watch on-site, operating the engraving machinery yourself as your chosen message or design is etched into the finished piece. Local whisky, beer, wine and traditional shortbread are provided throughout, and there is a £175 credit to spend on a watch on the day. Available in St Andrews or London, it makes a distinctive gift for anyone with an interest in design, craftsmanship and personalisation.

What happens on the day

On arrival at the Kartel store, you will be welcomed by the team before being introduced to the history of the Kartel brand and Scotland’s watch manufacturing heritage dating back to the 17th century.

You will then explore the collection, looking through watch cases, premium straps and detailing options. With guidance throughout, you can choose the combination that suits you from more than 1,300 possible combinations.

To complete your watch, you will engrave it on-site by operating the engraving machine yourself while your chosen message or design is etched into the timepiece. Once finished, your watch is yours to take home.

Throughout the experience, you can enjoy a curated selection of drinks from over 30 bottles of premium whiskies alongside local favourites, complemented by traditional shortbread.
