Virgin Experience Days Totally Wild Foraging, Cookery and Lunch for Two - 18 Locations UK Wide

Spend a day outdoors learning to spot edible ingredients in the wild with this foraging, cookery and lunch experience for two with Totally Wild. Guided by a professional forager, the session introduces the fundamentals of foraging and wild food, combining practical learning with a shared lunch made from foraged ingredients.

Across this 6 hour course, you’ll identify a range of wild ingredients and learn the general rules of foraging, along with tips on recognising edible plants, fungi and seaweeds. There are also plenty of tasters to try, including chutneys, jams, salt pickles and syrups. After the walk, you’ll cook a three-course lunch as a group using wild and foraged ingredients, then sit down to enjoy it together. Past dishes have included Wild Risotto, Elderflower Cheesecake and Wild Eton Mess.

What happens on the day

On arrival, you’ll have some brief introductions with the rest of the group before entering the mindset of a forager. You’ll then head out to discover the array of wild edibles all around us, while learning the rules of general foraging and plenty of tips and information on how to identify what’s edible, as well as uses for plants, fungi and seaweeds.

During the walk, you’ll identify a range of ingredients before heading back to cook a wild-inspired lunch as a group and tuck in.
