In the glass, it shows a light gold colour. The nose is subtly smoky, with aromas of creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates; add a drop of water to reveal classic Ardbeg notes of lime and pine. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and creamy, bringing flavours of chocolate, toffee and smoky spices, before a lingering finish that remains smoothly sweet.
