From Doña Paula, the Altitude Series 1350 Red 2019 is a complex, balanced red wine blend of Cabernet Franc (50%), Malbec (45%) and Casavecchia (5%). In the glass, it shows an intense purple colour, with Cabernet Franc contributing spicy and floral notes and Malbec adding berry character. The finish is lengthy and persistent, supported by tannins and an elegant structure.
Sourced from two quarters (No. 10 and No. 7) in Finca Alluvia, Gualtallary, this wine comes from vineyards located at 1350 metres above sea level. The ground is described as sandy, with alluvial and calcareous stones. Valle de Uco’s climate is characterised by mild days and cold nights, with a thermal amplitude of 12.5°C and an annual average rainfall of 280 mm. The vines are planted in espaldero and watered with melt water via drip feed, with a performance per hectare of 10 tons. Doña Paula states it has always managed its vineyards using sustainable agriculture practices.
