Reggie Rabbit Series 4 Books Collection Set by Swapna Reddy brings together four detective adventures set in Bearburgh City. This collection includes The Great Carrot Heist, The Ghost of Seagull Rock, The Metro Mice and Robbery at the Masqued Ball.
Reggie Rabbit dreams of becoming a big-shot detective in Bearburgh City, following in the footsteps of his hero, Detective Fox. While his parents would rather he stayed close to home and helped on the family vegetable stall, a carrot-snatching crime wave puts their livelihood at risk.
With Detective Fox refusing to take the case, Reggie steps in and follows a lead from Pipsquark, the new parakeet at school, who has heard rumours of foul play. The investigation draws Reggie into the canals and corners of the big city as he tries to crack the mystery.
Reggie is wary of Kai, Pipsquark’s other best friend, and doubts her stories about a terrifying ghost said to haunt Seagull Rock. Invited for a sleepover at Kai’s family home, Reggie and Pipsquark hear the howling for themselves.
As the young detectives dig deeper, questions gather around the supposed phantom of the seagull pirate Blackbeak and what is really happening on the rock. With appearances proving unreliable, they must tread carefully and weigh the evidence with care.
Reggie still wants to make his name as a detective in Bearburgh City, even as his parents hope he will stay safe in Little Critter and work on the family vegetable stall. In this instalment, word is spreading about Reggie and his parakeet partner, Pipsquark, but Reggie seems off his game.
When a shy mouse called Mo asks for help, the pair are drawn into the warren-like metro tunnels beneath Bearburgh, where cracks are appearing in both the structure and the community living there. Reggie and Pipsquark want to assist, but it is not clear whether the Metro Mice want them involved.
Bearburgh’s grand Masqued Ball promises spectacle, made even bigger by a performance from pop star Kitty Qita. Reggie Rabbit and Pipsquark attend as waiters for Auntie Hibiscus’s catering company, only for the evening to take a sharp turn.
When the lights go out during the act and guests’ jewels are stolen, the two detectives take on a high-pressure case. Clues point towards Dog Lane, but the mystery suggests there may be more at play than first appears.
