Compact in scale but serious in specification, the Sky-Watcher Skymax 127 MAK Astronomy Telescope with AZ5 Mount is a Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with a 127mm aperture, 1500mm focal length and f/11. 8 focal ratio on a manual AZ5 alt-azimuth mount. Its long focal length and high-resolution optical system suit easy visual astronomy as well as daytime terrestrial viewing, with a 90 erect image diagonal included for an upright image.

Sky-Watcher pairs the optical tube with an aluminium tripod and accessory tray, keeping the setup practical for grab-and-go use. The primary and secondary mirrors carry Radiant Aluminium Quartz (RAQ) coatings, while the corrector plate uses Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC). A 6x30 finderscope, 10mm and 20mm photo/visual eyepieces, and a universal smartphone camera adapter are supplied, giving a well-rounded package for observing the Moon, bright planets and multiple stars.
