The Orientalist Solera 23 Imperial Rum is a small-batch dark sipping rum made from a blend of rums aged between 6 and 23 years from Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. Those component rums are aged at origin through a classic solera process in ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels, giving you a bottle with clear cask character and layered depth.

Flavour profile

This is a darker, more cask-shaped style of rum rather than a light, easy-mixing expression. The combination of mature rum, ex-bourbon oak and PX sherry casks points towards a rounder, richer profile, so it suits customers looking for a sipping rum with weight and warmth.

It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl format. The rum is distilled in copper-lined column stills from first pressings of tropical sugar cane in Asia and is the only rum in the range made in collaboration with an external master blender.
