Why it stands out

Planteray Sealander is a triple-origin rum that brings together rum from Barbados, Mauritius and Fiji, with each origin adding something distinct to the blend. Barbados gives balance and roundness, Mauritius brings grassy, herbal lift, and Fiji adds fruit and structure. After tropical ageing in bourbon casks, the rum spends a further year in Ferrand casks in France, which helps knit the blend together and adds extra polish.

Flavour profile

You can expect a gently rich nose with pear, quince jelly, gooseberry, gingerbread and a touch of smoky molasses. The palate is smoother and fuller, moving through clover honey, liquorice, beeswax, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla fudge and prune before a lingering finish of cooked apple, tonka bean and dried banana.

Good to know

At 40% ABV, this is an easy bottle to pour neat, over ice or into spirit-forward serves where you still want the rum to show clearly. If you’re after a rum with layered fruit, light herbal freshness and a rounded cask-led finish, Sealander is a very considered choice.
