For a first step into astronomy, the Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ brings together a 130mm Newtonian reflector optical tube, a 650mm focal length and a manual German equatorial mount in a well-established beginner-friendly format. Its f/5 optical system is paired with a preassembled tripod and mount, along with 20mm and 10mm eyepieces to get started straight away.

This model uses a CG-3 equatorial mount with setting circles and slow-motion control knobs for fine adjustment in Right Ascension and Declination.
