Finding your way around the night sky feels notably more direct with the Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ, a beginner-friendly refractor telescope that pairs a 102mm aperture and 660mm focal length with a manual alt-azimuth mount. Its smartphone-enabled StarSense system helps guide the telescope to visible objects, while the 25mm and 10mm eyepieces provide 26x and 66x magnification straight from the box.

Celestron combines this 102mm refractor optical tube with fully XLT coated glass optics, a 90 erect image diagonal and a StarPointer red dot finderscope. The mount includes slip clutches and geared slow-motion controls on both axes for smooth manual tracking, all supported by a full-height aluminium tripod with accessory tray. Alongside astronomical observing, the erect image diagonal also supports daytime viewing of landscapes, wildlife and birds. The telescope works with most modern smartphones, including iPhone 6 and later and most Android devices running Android 7. 1. 2 or later manufactured since 2016.
