About the producer

Barton & Guestier traces its origins to Thomas Barton, who moved from Ireland to Bordeaux in the early 18th century and founded his wine-shipping company in 1725. By 1747, he had become Bordeaux’s leading wine shipper and was known as “French Tom”. In 1802, his grandson Hugh Barton joined with Daniel Guestier to establish Barton & Guestier, a name that has remained part of Bordeaux wine history ever since.
