From Romania’s first biodynamic winery, Domeniul Bogdan Feteasca Neagra is an organic red wine from Dobrogea, made from the local Feteasca Neagra grape. The vineyards lie in the Murfatlar DOC between the Danube and the Black Sea, where limestone, clay and sand soils combine with warm summers and coastal breezes.
Hand-harvested in the first half of October, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation for at least 15 days at 24C, followed by hot maceration for at least 15 days at 28–30C. The wine is partially aged for 6 months in barrique oak barrels and then matured in glass for at least 4 months. It is a dry red with 14.5% ABV, medium body, good acidity and soft tannins, suited to serving at 15–17°C.
Aromas of red fruits, currants, plums and light spices such as cloves, with an earthy touch
Fresh, with good acidity, a fruity character, medium body and soft tannins
Serve at 15–17°C. Pairs well with pasta with beef ragout, lamb ribs in wine sauce and matured cheese.
