Why it stands out

Don Papa Single Island Rum brings a distinctly Philippine point of view to aged rum. Made in Negros Occidental, known locally as Sugarlandia, it starts with rich sugarcane molasses and matures in the foothills of Mount Kanlaon. The current official bottling is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Rioja American oak casks, which gives it a rounded, polished style with more depth than a straightforward oak-led rum.

Flavour profile

You can expect bold, ripe orchard fruit and vanilla cream up front, followed by a touch of lemon zest and a dry toasted oak finish. It is rich and well-rounded, but it stays composed rather than overly sweet, which makes it a smart bottle if you want something easy to sip and equally useful in a measured classic serve.
