Tamiya French R35 Light Tank (1:35 Scale)

Developed as a successor to the Renault FT17, the French light tank R35 saw service during the German invasion of May 1940, where its strong defence was offset by the limitations of its short-barrelled 37mm gun. Tamiya’s French R35 Light Tank is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that captures the vehicle’s distinctive rounded cast hull and turret, making it a considered choice for military modellers with an interest in early-war French armour.

With a slide-moulded turret for realistic surface texture and straightforward construction, the kit also includes workable details such as gun elevation and slight left-right movement. Link-and-length tracks combine straight runs with a naturally finished upper sag, while a commander figure is provided to sit in the hatch behind the turret. Two marking options are included for the war against Germany.
