The Map of Heaven is a book by Dr Eben Alexander. It follows on from the author’s earlier writing about his near-death experience in Proof of Heaven.

Synopsis

After publishing Proof of Heaven, Dr Eben Alexander was contacted by many people from different walks of life who wanted to share their own experiences of the afterlife. In The Map of Heaven, he retells a range of accounts gathered during his travels, including near-death experiences, encounters with angelic beings and messages said to come from departed loved ones.

These stories are used to consider the scale of the universe and what they suggest about human existence. Alongside the personal testimonies, the book also draws on lessons from religious leaders and philosophers, as well as scientific investigations into the role of consciousness, to explore what may exist beyond death and our place within the wider universe.
