Bringing app-guided navigation to a classic large-aperture format, the Celestron StarSense Explorer 8-inch Dobsonian Telescope combines a 254mm Newtonian reflector optical system with a 1200mm focal length and a Dobsonian mount. Built for beginners who want a more direct route into observing, it uses StarSense Explorer technology with your smartphone to identify the telescope’s position in the night sky and guide you towards visible objects in real time.

The stable base includes side-panel braces, Teflon azimuth bearings and large-diameter altitude bearings with variable tensioning, along with an integrated altitude brake for controlled movement. An 8-inch optical tube, XLT optical coatings and low-expansion optical glass are paired with a 2-inch Crayford focuser for smooth, precise adjustment. Carry handles at the balancing point of the tube and base make it easier to move, while compatibility with 1. 25-inch and 2-inch eyepieces adds flexibility as your observing setup develops.
