Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 6" Smartphone App-Enabled SCT

Bringing smartphone guidance to a classic compact optical design, the Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 6-inch is a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a 150mm aperture, 1500mm focal length, f/10 focal ratio and a manual alt-azimuth mount. It pairs Celestron’s StarSense Explorer app with a dedicated smartphone dock, using the app’s sky recognition technology to analyse star patterns and calculate the telescope’s position in real time.

For beginners, the setup is straightforward and the app presents a clear route to objects currently visible in the sky. Onscreen arrows guide movement of the telescope, and the target is ready to view when the bullseye turns green. The optical tube uses StarBright XLT coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces, while the mount includes slip clutches and dual-axis slow-motion controls for smooth manual tracking. A StarPointer red dot finderscope, erect image 90 diagonal, 40mm and 10mm eyepieces, and a full-height adjustable tripod complete the package.
